I agree with the guy below 100%. Marcel is a true artist. The first time time I saw his work, I was really blown away, just because it had been such a long time since I have ever seen his caliber of work, other than in art history books. There are no trendy gimmicks with his work, it's just pure talent and skill, as a result of years of dedication and having natural ability.

All of Marcel's work is five stars. Other artists on this site (like me) who realize what talent and years of training it takes to produce painting of this caliber- and make the result look as effortless as a snapshot- are awed by Marcel's work. Those who don't are simply as ignorant as children. Even with years of training, not everyone can produce art like this. During the reign of Modernism there was a tendency to admire and encourage amateur work over professional painters and expertise went out of fashion. Because of this art is chocker block full of amateurs today- some of them making good money. But during the last 20 years, expert painters have been making a comeback. Marcel is one of them. True realistic traditional painting like his is as difficult to do as playing Chopin on piano. Most can't even play Chopin's advanced pieces, some play them crudely, filled with mistakes, but only a small fraction are able to play the maestro's music perfectly with greatness. Marcel has the same skill and training with the brush that the great concerto pianist has. I know that he knows this fact already. I make this statement for the other members of art bistro: If you want to see real art, check Marcel out.

Marcel: Thank you so much for your comments regarding my work. I am just new on here so I am unsure how much notice it will gain. I actually get quite busy at times with private portrait commissions and do enter a few juried shows a year. But, really, am pretty unknown. I've been doing private portrait commissions since about 1992/93. Thank you again and wonderful to meet you! Jocelyn

HEY IF ANY ONE IS FRIENDS WITH MAURICE DELETE HIM! HE IS SCANDALOUS! He came to a small town where i reside and leered me into thinking i can trust him. He saw my talent and snatched it right from under me. He said if i do this storyboarding script for him i could make it big and he would pay me. So my dumb ass not knowing the industry at all got suckered into thinking i could trust this guy and did a full movie script called "stacking chips" when i had emailed him one day just checking on the status he said stop bothering me. when i clearly wasn't. So he owe's me money and i'm just letting it be known that you just watch out for this guy called Maurice. You can find him on the art bistro. ima keep him on my friends list for a little while just long enough for people to see who i'm talking about than ima delete him!
